Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows
« on: November 29, 2010, 03:52:01 PM »
I just went to see the new Harry Potter with my fiance on Saturday and I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed. I did like it overall but I felt like my two favourite parts were rushed while other parts were dragged out. I was pleased that it was pretty true to the book with only minor things changed. Has anyone else gone to see it yet?

I really liked it! It was a lot better than the sixth film and I can't say I have any complaints about it that I can think of. What were the parts you thought were rushed?
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

The first scene I thought was rushed was when they went to the ministry of magic to find the necklace. That was one of my favourite parts in the book. I guess it's just impossible to add in as much detail as the book does. Another scene I thought was rushed was when they got caught by the snatchers and were brought to the Malfoy house. Other parts seemed to drag on in comparison. When the movie ended I was quite surprised. It seemed like I had been sitting there for an hour at most. I can't wait until the next one when they break into Gringotts bank!

I saw the movie and liked it.  My daughter is a Harry Potter fan, and I went with her.

I agree about the breaking into the ministry of magic scene, I was a little bit disappointed with that one because it was also one of my favourite parts of the book as well. However, overall I loved the movie, Dobby :) and Ron :). And I agree on another point, it didn't seem that I was sitting there for almost 2 and a half hours. I definitely cannot wait until July :D
