Good news though: a friend of the family has offered us their condo for our honeymoon.   ;DIt's in Mijas, Spain!!! Holy crap! We are planning to stay there and go to Morocco for 3-4 days. I have always wanted to go to Morocco so this is a dream come true for me!  Finances are tight, so saving so much on accommodations will allow us to stay longer, and go somewhere nice for our honeymoon!!

Man, I hate to do this, but I think there are a few things you should take into consideration before booking your honeymoon.  If you leave the UK once married without having yet recieved your next visa, you will be denied re-entry to the UK because you will no longer qualify for your Fiancee visa - you will be married.  I'm not sure exactly where on the forum, but I did see several conversations regarding this exact matter.  It was a bit of a blow to us as well - but there are always options.  Just make sure you are aware of them before traveling outside of the UK once married.

Don't worry, I'm well aware of all that fun stuff.  Our honeymoon isn't going to be until like 2 months after the wedding probably, after we apply in-person in Glasgow and get everything taken care of.

Directly after the wedding, we are planning to stay at some of the local black houses for a few days.  My mum is flying over for the wedding, and hopefully a friend or two might, so I would rather stay local and be able to spend time with them instead of flying away somewhere.

That sounds like a great plan!

I don't think Mr Red has set wedding reservations yet... I'm starting to get nervous.  Without proper planning my uncle (the only family I really have) might not be able to make it all the way from Los Angeles.  I miss my uncle already.

I am, I am! We set the date - December 21 - this morning! ;D

I am so over the moon right now. It feels wonderful to have a solid date to anchor me in the nebulous uncertainty that the visa/moving process feels like sometimes :) Also, more than anything else, I get to marry the best person I've ever known. <3

Yay!

We've changed our plans...AGAIN.

My fiancee visa got denied (I didn't include enough paperwork explaining a DUI and driving after revocation conviction), so we are changing our plans.

Originally, back in July when we first got engaged, we were going to elope.  Well, we're going back to the eloping idea!!!!  Is it sad that I'm excited to elope and not have a big wedding?

Our general plan is for him to fly over here to the US at the end of February.  We'll spend a couple of days with family and friends and then fly to the Florida Keys to get married!!!
We found an awesome planner/photographer pair that take care of everything for us!

http://www.ezweddingsinparadise.com/planning_a_KeyWest_Wedding.html

We will then have a blast in the Keys, spending the money we had saved up for the wedding on the trip.

I'm really excited since I'm a big fan of snorkeling, and almost studied Marine Biology in college.  I've been to the Keys before, but never Key West, and I haven't seen a lot of the attractions.  He's never been ANYWHERE sub-tropical or tropical, so this is a big treat for him.

So excited! Now time to plan!

Honeymoon in Russia!  How exciting!  Are you going to go to St. Petersburg?  It's one of my favorite cities!

Sorry for the late reply! It was a Beatles themed in that I walked down an abbey road zebra carpet, with all you need is love signs on the side of the isles. Guests signed our abbey road sign instead of a guest book. My groom walked down to Maybe I'm Amazed, the jr. bridal party walked down to When i'm 64, I walked down to In My Life, we signed the register to All You Need Is Love, and we walked out to What Is Life. Our first dance was Real Love we cut the cake to 8 days a week and our last dance was Grow Old With Me. We had the reception at the Lathom Social Club where the Beatles actually played. My groom dressed like a beatle circa 64 and the groomsmen dressed up as the beatles circa 63. We all wore Beatle buttons and the centerpieces included chocolate covered strawberries (strawberry fields forever) and chocolate covered marshmallows (where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pie- lucy in the sky with diamonds). The wedding gift to our guests was a caramel apple (apple corps.) Oh and we took our wedding pictures at the Cavern Club and Strawberry Fields!
