School Enrollment

Now that the visa journey is over, we're settled in our home and the holidays are over, I'm ready to get the kiddos enrolled in school. We are in the Ealing area and the schools closest to us are, of course, without vacancies for my two kids. One of my children has mild dyslexia and I was wondering if all the schools make accommodations for children with dyslexia or if I need to find one that does, if that makes sense. Currently I'm going to be looking at state schools but I'll go independent if I have to... at least until there's a vacancy in the state school I wanted for next year.

Anyone who has been through this processes, any advice is welcome. I know it's not the same as the states where you just enroll in your school district and they have to make room.

I don't know anything about schools in Ealing but I didn't want your post to go ignored.  Yes, all state schools will have the same obligation to accomodate children with dyslexia but you will find that some do a better job with it than others.  Good luck with finding a place for your children. 

You might want to check the Mumsnet forum for your area.   There may be other parents there who can give you info on local schools, especially on the quality of their provisions for dyslexia.
