'spouse of...' in visa in maiden name
« on: January 09, 2011, 07:40:07 AM »
My husbands spouse visa has my maiden name on it. I intend to change to my married name this year and get a passport in my married name - will that matter or cause any issues at all? Could we get it changed if we wanted to?

Shouldn't be a problem. If you're at all concerned then just fold up your marriage certificate & put it in his passport just in case he's ever questioned then you can show the linking document.

I don't think he can get a replacement vignette if you simply changed your name if he changed his name & got a new passport then yes, he could apply to have his vignette transferred, but not in this case.
