Saw 10 o'Clock Live last night. It sort of is a mix of a bad version of TDS (focusing on Jimmy Carr who can be funny, but didn't really shine last night), a weird music special vibe with Lauren Laverne, a wipe of some sort with Brooker who is genius (as always), and Mitchell being a semi-serious news person doing interviews and moderating a sort of Politically Incorrect/Real Time round table with humour format. Some of it was crap; some of it was brilliant. Carr should be dropped if he can't adapt to the format. I really don't get why they have Laverne. It's off putting and out of place. They should do less with the result being more, if you know what I mean.
ETA: Not exactly hard hitting satire, the targets seemed to be bankers' bonuses, priests being molesters, the Pope's Hitler Youth background, Americans having guns, Sarah Palin, uni fees (which Mitchell handled incredibly--really in his element), etc. Brooker's take on Tunisia was great.
