Another question about passport renewal for kids
« on: January 28, 2011, 07:02:46 PM »
Hi all, I wondered if anyone had some advice about booking appointments at the Embassy to renew passports for my kids. We have 3 kids: can  I book all 3 in at the same time, or do I need 3 consecutive appointments? Also apart from us parents, obviously the other 2 kids will have to attend each child's appointment, but there is only room for 2 "non-applicants".

Thanks for any help!

Each family member seeking a service related to passports or birth registration requires an appointment.

Also you can add more than one name in each slot (there are 2 slots but you can put a comma and add more names within each).  I wouldn't really worry about that too much as you'll have individual appointments for each child so it will explain why they are present.

Thanks for the hint about adding more than one person in the additional persons slot, I hadn't thought of that! That's reassuring.

Yes, I know I need an appointment for each child, but there are multiple appointments at the same time, so can I book 3 appointments at the same time? e.g. say at the moment there are 5 appointments available at 8:15. Can I book 3 of them, or should I book an 8:15, a 9:00 and a 9:30? I guess the latter since we parents will have to be present at each one. And how long does each appointment take? Will 30 mins be enough? Should I allow an hour between appointments? Or more?

It won't make any difference.  When you have an appointment at the Embassy it's a DMV-type setup where you get a number and then you are called to a window (sometimes several times).

The person who first calls you to the window may process all the renewals together.
