Spousal Visa renewal question

Confused and thinking ahead.

27 month Spousal Visa issued middle of September 2009. Arrived in UK middle of October 2009. Visa expires on Dec 15th this year.

When do I need to renew it and where? Looking at the website I can’t find anything concrete.

Do I renew it 28 days before it expires? Do I renew it 28 days before it was issued in Sept 2009? Do I renew it 28 days before when I arrived?

Also where do I send it or can I go personally to renew it?

Thanks for any help and apologies if this has already been asked.

Hi!
you don't so much renew it as "move onto the next step" which would be an ILR.  There are slightly different requirements, yet another form, and more money to go to UKBA (of course!).  You can do a search on here for threads on the ILR. My own one is here:

You can apply up to 28 days in advance of the 2 year anniversary of the date you ENTERED the UK. You can Post off your application NO LATER than 15 December 2011, the day your current visa is set to expire.
