Hi and welcome!

I'm not too terribly far away from you! It is a bit tough to find your feet with a move like this, but the key is to try to not get too discouraged. I've found that the people in Scotland are generally very happy to help if you need it.

For help with baking/cooking/etc. try looking at our Food Talk forum. You'll be able to get yourself sorted out with ingredients and the finer points of the perpetual flour question.

For advice on jobs there's our On the Job forum.
Temp agencies are a good way to get your foot in the door in terms of obtaining a UK reference, but it helps to call and actually go in there and talk to someone rather than just e-mailing them a CV. I had some luck with ASA Recruitment and Pertemps, which are both in Glasgow city centre, but there's loads of others such as Blue Arrow, Brook Street, and Office Angels.
You can also head to your local Job Centre for help searching and for advice about your CVs.
To search for jobs online specific to Scotland, I usually use s1 jobs, scotcareers, scottishjobs, and the scotsman. There's also Gumtree, but it's often just rubbish and scams.
I hope some of that helps!
