Southern California to Kent!
« on: February 22, 2012, 08:48:56 PM »
Hi all,

I wanted to introduce myself and my family.  We're currently living in Southern California (Pasadena area right outside of Los Angeles) and will be moving to Canterbury in Kent this Summer!  We're very excited as both my wife and I will be starting separate PhD programs at the University of Kent.

We've never lived anywhere outside of the LA area so we're looking forward to a new adventure (snow!). We have two small children coming along as well so it will be a big move.

We would love to connect with any others at the UoK or in the Canterbury area!

Best,

Steve

Welcome to UK-Y! My BF lives in Kent (in Tunbridge Wells so not really near Canterbury) and the eventual plan is for me to move there. It will be very different from LA, I'm sure! :)

Welcome to the UKY!!!!

We used to live in Tunbridge Wells until a year ago when my DH and I bought a home in Knatts Valley.  Actually Tunbridge Wells is about 48 miles from Canterbury a 58 minute drive approx.  Knatts Valley is 41 miles or 43 minute drive.  Anyway we are in Kent also.  The 4th of this month will be 2 years that I have been here, but got Spousal visa in Oct 2010.

Good luck on your move and your schooling!!!!  Take care!!!!!
