Looking for ideas..
« on: March 14, 2011, 08:01:47 PM »
I'm due to have hip surgery soon and will be in hospital for about five days. I take my children to school everyday and won't be able to drive for two to three weeks. They are too young and new to London to use public transit. My fiance doesn't drive; he cycles. He's taking time off to look after us all and we're looking for ideas on how to get them to and from school while I'm down. He could take and pick them both up but it's a lot to juggle with their schools so far apart. I'm hoping some of you might have some ideas for how to get them to and from school. I'm not sure what all the options are out there.

Well, the most obvious one that comes to mind is, do they have any friends at school who live close by, and whose parents might be willing to help drive them?

Unfortunately, with the vacancy issues in London, they were offered places about five miles from home so that has complicated things a bit. None of their classmates live near us. :/

What about booking a taxi to take you there? Or ask a classmates parents to pick them up and take them to their own homes, and you can pick them up in a taxi. Good luck!
