I was stuck trying to figure out some circumstance where they would fit. Like the guy in the suit with the bigfoot track. What if a hotel over-booked a bigfoot convention and an orthopedic sales seminar into the same venue. It would be just the photo the article would need - "Hilton muck up: Shoe salesmen step on Sasquatch's toes".

What is somewhat sadder is that stock photo sites won't take all photos.  Why they took these or the reason the photographer set them up, no clue.  It makes me wonder what's up with the pineapples on heads though.  On a sort of related note:

I didn't look at all of them, but I'm not all that puzzled by these. People in advertising could probably make good use of a lot of these given enough creative juice. My personal experience is that it often happens the other way around. The ad guy gets an idea or concept and commissions the photo. I guess photographers here are trying to come up with ideas in anticipation of that 'great idea'. I suspect it's cheaper to just buy the rights to a stock photo than create the whole photo shoot.

Just off the top of my head, for the first pic, Barbara Kruger did something sort of similar:

Sorry, that's the only place I could find the images and they're a bit tough to read. Her men aren't visibly pregnant but idea is still the same.

Anyway, yeah, odd but I'd not call the unusable!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
