Reselling a wedding dress?
« on: May 09, 2011, 08:50:49 AM »
Has anyone ever sold their wedding dress online? I'm trying to find the best site to do this, so would love it if anyone has first-hand experience to pass on. My dress is a custom-made couture designer dress, so I'm looking for a site that might feature high-end dresses. If I can't get quite a good price, then I won't bother. Any advice?

I didn't realize that there are special websites for re-selling wedding dresses. That would be interesting to know. I have seen some second hand couture wedding dresses go for quite a bit on ebay. I've resold mine on ebay personally and got almost as much as I paid for it.

Yes, I might resort to eBay if nobody else has any information about other sites. But I have heard that Confetti and Hitched have sales sections, and there are also sites like Sell Your Wedding Dress, Sell My Wedding Dress, Your Wedding Shop, Preloved, etc. The thing is that I know nothing about those sites - either from personal experience or through recommendations from other people. Until I get some information, I'm more inclined to trust eBay as I've used it so much (as a buyer and a seller) in the past. At least it's a known entity. But I still wonder if I might be more likely to get a better price on a more specific site.
