Hello and Thanks!
« on: May 20, 2011, 12:04:46 AM »
Hello all,

Let me start off by saying thanks. Really, these forums are great. This is my first post here, but I've been swinging by quite a bit trying to read over everything and get as much information as possible.

A while back, we decided it was finally time to do what we've talked about in the past but hadn't had the oppurtunity to do. Our goal, now, is for us (me, my wife, and son) to move to Edinburgh so that I can attend the University of Edinburgh. I realize there's a lot involved in that, including getting accepted into the school and getting the appropriate visas for all of us, but we're really hoping to make it all happen.

We've never been to Edinburgh (or even the UK for that matter) , but we'll be visiting for 2 weeks in July. I'm very excited about it, but I'm a bit nervous too. Not only do I hope to visit the school, but we'll have 2 weeks to check out as much as we can and try to get a good feel of what living there will be like.

I'm sure you'll see me around the forums more often . Thanks again!

Hello and welcome!  :) Edinburgh is absolutely lovely, and there is always loads going on there in the summer.  I bet you'll have a fabulous visit!

What subject do you plan to study?  University of Edinburgh is supposed to be fantastic.  :)

Thanks, you two.

And I plan on doing Software Engineering. I'm really looking forward to it.
