Sorry to but in with a few questions, and I apologise if anyone thinks they're stupid, but I just want to know what's what for sure before forking out the money for an ebook reader. But here I go...
Can anyone comment on which Kindle is the best to buy? I know there's the new one being launched here in the UK in a couple weeks time. Is the 3G one better for international travel? (Is it really easy to switch between the US & UK stores? And, if so would it still be ok if I bought it in the UK, not the US?)
My library back home in the states allows ebook loans, would anyone know if I'd still be able to take advantage from here in the UK if I have my account set to US Kindle store (they do them for all readers, but they go through the Kindle store for Kindle apps)? Also, could I buy from the Kindle store and use the books on another reader? I know they allow downlaods to Kindle PC, but can these files be converted for use on another device?
About two years ago (when I last looked into getting a reader) there were a handful of Sony ereaders on the market, but most of them seem to have disappeared. The only ones I can find for sale (and that's marginally) are the PRS-300 and 600. Does anyone know what's going on with these?
I know the iRiver is supposed to be similar to the Kindle, but more more versatile with other document formats. Does anyone know anything more first (or second-hand) about it?
Thanks for any help in advance!
