Does anyone know anything about wild bird care (pooing in drinking water?)

Hot water seems like a good idea, except the birds drink from a plastic bottle with plastic dish which may not be able to tolerate the hot water.

Will put up with it and maybe try hanging the water bottle somewhere else.

Don't think you need to worry about it. Just swill it out and refill with fresh water every few days. That's all my mother did with our bird bath.
