I’m going to a wedding in Rode Island.  It will only be the second time I’ve been to that State.  Plus, the venue was featured on Good Morning America last week, it’s going to be lovely.

Not much, really. DH and I both requested the day off from our jobs. We're making guinea fowls(because we've both never tried them, and it'd be kinda cool to have one for each of us) for our tea, and I'm thinking of making either a small flag cake or an apple pie.

Back to work after a week off for me that day.  Exciting!!!  :-\\\\

I always have loved the 4th of July though- because it was another great holiday with food (and beer) and fireworks and no presents or family stress!!!

I think I'll probably cook out with DH and the kids on the 4th.  We're having a big BBQ on the 9th, which I'm really looking forward to.  I'll be baking a cake on Monday too because DD (she's 6) told me that since it's America's birthday, it needs a birthday cake  ;D

Is it going to be a Flag Cake?!

Talk about raining on your parade, although I do understand with all the wildfires going on in the SW.

Are you not even getting a controlled display by the city or something?

We're having a BBQ next weekend (though we should have done it today since the weather was perfect for it).

Otherwise, not much.  :-\\\\

I'm about an hour north of Houston, and Houston's annual public display will go on.  The only legal fireworks shows in Harris County are the ones being put on by licensed entities.

My town is having a display tonight, at 7.  I live a few blocks from it, so I will stay at home tonight.  I don't know about the rest of the weekend.
