Prospective Student applying for Tier 4

Hello,

I am currently living in the UK with a prospective student visa and as soon as I receive my CAS I will be applying for my tier 4 visa from within the UK. Can I apply online? The UK visa website is very confusing because it says that I can apply either by post or in person but when I try to get the forms it leads me to an online application. I don't want to apply online and get in trouble! If anyone has done this before or has any idea what I should do I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

You do apply either by post or in person, but recently they introduced a way to fill out some visa application forms online and pay online, before printing them off to send by post/take in person. Alternatively for people who don't want to pay online, they can download the paper form, fill it out by hand and then mail their payment with the form/pay in person.

However, when I just went to the online application section for the Tier 4 visa, it only seems to give the option to download the paper form and fill it out by hand - it doesn't look like you can apply or pay online for the Tier 4 visa.
