Who is matron? And why do I need an appointment with her?
« on: June 29, 2011, 02:41:02 PM »
I'm 34 weeks pregnant.  2nd baby, but first baby in the UK.  I'm having a scheduled c-section and have my appointments set with the consultant and the anesthesiologist.  At my last appointment the consultant said I need an appointment with matron.  What is this for?

I think that's the head maternity nurse/midwife. Probably just to get you familiar with the maternity ward, etc.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
