Hi, Im Phil and currently live in Nottingham UK, Im an alarm engineer who used to travel all over the UK so ive stayed in all the big cities as London, Birmingham, Edinburgh etc.
My Girlfriend lives in San Diego and hopefully moving over next year
I know pretty much everything about this side of the pond to do with places, weather, traffic, things to see and do etc.
now what im not sure about is the whole move from the visa's to border interviews etc.

So any help or things you want to know about Nottingham or anything else or even down to pronoucing places as i know my girlfriend has problems with

Hello, Phil. Welcome to the forum.

Feeling brave? Ready to pop the question? That'll be by far your easiest path to togetherness.

Sweet dreams! :)

That's exactly how it's going to be but there are alot of factors before we can marry

Don't I know it! It took us upwards of ten years to work them all out!

Anyway, good luck. I was just trying to scare you...

Love. :)

My husband was born and raised in Mansfield and he has two children from a previous marriage and all I had no ties in NY - so I said I'd move this way instead of the other way around, so the kids wouldn't lose their dad to distance.

Absolutely love it here :)

Wow thats cool,

I wish i could do it the other way round where i went over there but ive applied for jobs to try and get sponsorship on that way but it has failed.
so we're going through the marriage route in about a years time its not through convience its through love though it would be sooner but there are issues that need to be sorted out first.

Now she has a daughter and i did say to her yesterday that im not sure if she will like it here or not and i dont want to drag her half way across the world when the only ties i have are my job which i can leave anytime

but the only thing is a spousal visa takes longer in the US than the UK i read somewhere that it was upto 10 months from being married (dont know how true that is)

Anyway she is coming over in 6 weeks and we're going to be in nottingham over the bank holiday weekend, maybe if you are free we could all meet up for lunch or something and we could pick your brains on a few things

:D
