Can I get Dreft in the UK?

You know the really gentle laundry detergent for newborns?  What is it called here?  Can you buy it at the grocery store or do you buy it at the baby store?

seen it at Sainsbury's but didn't seem the same as I remembered.  I've used Fairy non-bio with both of mine.

I've used it and it's not the same.  I mean, I can't tell you anything about the exact chemical composition, but it sure smells different!

In newborn days, I used Filetti detergent.  It was very gentle.

I can recommend Filetti, Fairy or Simply.  Filetti can be a bit more difficult to get your hands on depending on where you're living.

Fairy (P&G) and Persil (Unilever) are the most readily available and well advertised laundry detergents for babies and children.  Fairy's only sold as non-bio, but most non-bio detergents are good too.  In some countries P&G sometimes switch between Fairy and Dreft for washing-up liquids, so it could stand to reason the same could be happening at times with laundry detergent.   :-\\\\

If you want something a bit more specific and a little less commercial range I can recommend Simply.  It's designed specifically for sensitive skin (supported by national Eczema Society), Eco friendly and Vegan.  It's currently on offer 2 for £5 at Sainsbury's.   ;)

ETA:  Don't forget laundry detergents are going to perform slightly differently depending on what area of the country you live in and what your water hardness is.   :P  But, it shouldn't be anything too drastic.  (You just need to use a higher dosage of detergent in hard water areas to maintain cleaning performance and avoid the build-up of dirt and hard water deposits in your machine.)

Thanks for the info.  I happen to have to Tesco brand non-bio stuff already.  I suppose that is the same thing as the Fairy non-bio.  I guess I'll just use that.

Fairy non-bio is pretty nice, and you might find it better than the own brand.  I've sensitive skin and use non-bio.  I've not tried Tesco's version, but I will buy Fairy non-bio over Sainsbury's own brand.  They have sales on it every once in a while, and if you stock up, when they do, you can get it almost for the price of the own brand.

Oh, and you might want to check out a HFS (not Holland and Barret of course) for non-bio flakes or bars.
