Gift help!
« on: August 05, 2011, 03:23:31 PM »
I want to get something really special for my matron of honor.  She’s the first person I met when I moved to New York 8 years ago and very special to me.  It’s just very hard to buy her gifts as her husband does quite well and when she wants something she just buys it.

I’ve picked up a purple tote bag (my wedding color is purple) and thought I would fill it with ___ and a gift certificate to Bliss.  Are there any UK or even London based things that aren’t tea and aren’t wearable (she’s breast feeding right now and has scary big boobs so I don’t want to try and pick out clothing) but are on the high end of things?

Since you're leaving, I'd think the most valuable gift right now would be your time.

Can you organise for her husband to take the baby for a day and just the two of you can spend the day together? Maybe revisit some of your old haunts?

I know this is so last century, but what about a photo album of your fun times together? We have gotten so used to digital images available on devices that it's a nice step back to have actual photos to look at.  :)

I'm loving these ideas!

The photo album might be it, we took a vacation to Prague a few years ago and I've got loads of pics from that!

Squirrellypoo - you've reminded me of a place we went to the last night she was in her Harlem apartment.  I need to see if I can remember where it is!

Thanks both of you!
