Crate size Vs Pet hight? Gotta love those pointy ears!

Hello everyone,

I was wondering for those of you who brought your pointy ear dogs over to the UK, such as German Shepherd if you measured him/her from the ground to the point of his ears or from the top of his/her head to ground.

What size of crate did you use?

I measured my German Shepherd and if I go by the height of ear tip to ground he will need a Giant Crate 

I have a floppy-eared dog, but thanks to him being so leggy he needed a Giant sized crate even though he's a lab mix. The guidelines imply that it should be top of the ears to the ground, but I think it's up to the airline staff (who will likely err on the side of larger crate as they risk fines if the animal control people decide the crate was too small).

FWIW, my dog is ~30.5 inches from floor to the top of his head.

Thanks! Looks like I'll be getting a giant crate then. At least he will have plenty of room to stretch out for the 8 hour flight to LHR!
