Great news and I had to share =)
« on: October 09, 2011, 11:02:23 PM »
Yesterday I passed my entrance exam to get into my dream beauty school  ;D I'm so proud of myself and thrilled for the opportunity to see my career flourish! I just have to work out the kinks with financial aid and if I can solve that issue then I'll start October 25Th. If not then I'll start in November. It dawned on me last night that life is truly starting to get better for me.. I see the light at the end of the tunnel and can't wait to be licensed and living in the UK with my lovely Englishman! I'm extremely happy about this small achievement ;D which will open the door to many more. Thanks for reading, just needed to gush for a minute! :)

Aw Congrats hun!!  I wanted to do beauty and hair a while back so I know how exciting it can be to get into the right school. :)  Have fun!
We stole countries with the cunning use of flags. Just sail around the world and stick a flag in. "I claim India for Britain!" They're going "You can't claim us, we live here! Five hundred million of us!" "Do you have a flag …? "What? We don't need a flag, this is our home, you bastards" "No flag, No Country, You can't have one! Those are the rules... that I just made up!...and I'm backing it up with this gun, that was lent to me from the National Rifle Association."

Not to be a downer, but I'm curious if your certification in the US will translate in the UK (truly curious, not being negative! Congrats!)

Congratulations! I've always been impressed with the caliber of hair stylists over here. Much more 'with it' than where I used to live in the Southern U.S. states.....

Oh no you're not being a downer:) I will be taking the ITEC which is a certification that will allow me to work in 38 other countries and cruise ships (ITEC's headquaters are in London and based on UK regs) So it's safe to say my career here will translate just fine in England ;D This is in addittion to my esthetics license and makeup certification.
