X-Factor 2011

I think it's going to be down to Frankie and the girl band (can't remember their name for the life of me) to be voted off tomorrow. 

I think so too. The girl group's song was not rock, and there was hardly any 'singing' put into the show! I mean, Push It? Really?? 

Misha sounds like a bleating sheep
As for Misha-gate, I don't think Tulisa was out of line at all. If it's true, that is, and it very well may be. If Misha is indeed a b*tch, it'll show and people won't vote for her. Contrary to what Kelly and Gary say, it's not just about what's on stage. It's about the whole package and personality is a HUGE part of that.

Misha a bleating sheep? Are we watching the same show? That girl is awesome. Regardless of how she treats other contestants, let the public make up their own minds about her. Tulisa is a jerk for what she did. It's sabotage and clearly uncalled for. The damage has been done though but I don't think it will hurt Misha's votes. She's still a great performer.

I was telling my husband last night, even if Misha went home early, she's still going to get a record deal. Attitude and all.

When she sings well, she sings well. However, there's far too much bleating for my taste. She needs to break that habit.

I don't really think Frankie has much charisma or is a very good performer and his voice (and look/style) is really average (I work in a high school and nearly all the sixth form boys look like him with the same haircut and everything). He just doesn't do it for me at all, and he seriously needs to shave those 5 hairs off his upper lip, it looks ridiculous.

I just find the whole show to be really ho-hum this year. I don't understand why they have to do the same songs on X-Factor every year, it seems they did all the same songs during the last "Rock Week" - Sweet Child O'Mine (Lucy), Get Your Rocks Off (Jamie), Live and Let Die (Olly? Can't remember who did that one), Living on a Prayer (group performance on the results show), Purple Rain (Ruth) and so on. B-O-R-I-N-G. There are millions of good rock songs out there, and so many more current artists like The Killers, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, etc. No idea why they have to rehash the same old tired 80's songs as if there hasn't been a good rock record released since then. 

I just find the whole show to be really ho-hum this year.

Same here - I've been recording the live shows on Sky+ and then watching them afterward so I can fast-forward the boring bits... last night I got through the entire 2-hour show in 15 minutes! This is the first time since I started watching X Factor (2006 - Leona's year) that I've gotten so bored with it that I can't be bothered to watch the live shows.

Yesterday, I watched the Judge's Houses episodes of the US version and I was so impressed with all the singers... they sound and look so professional and polished. Although I've heard people say that the US show is taking itself too seriously, but at least they have actual talented singers and groups in it. There's not a Louis Walsh-type-judge, Wagner, Jedward or Johnny Robinson in sight. I had stopped watching the US version a couple of weeks ago, but I think I'll be tuning into those live shows instead of the UK ones from now on.

There are millions of good rock songs out there, and so many more current artists like The Killers, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Foo Fighters, etc. No idea why they have to rehash the same old tired 80's songs as if there hasn't been a good rock record released since then. 

I think part of that is that they're limited to the songs they can get the rights to. I'm not exactly sure how many that would be, but it might be one reason it seems that we hear the same ones over and over again.

I find the US performers all so bland! Yes, I think they're good singers, but that's it. And that's not enough for me. They all seem to be bog standard R&B or country singers. Yawn. Maybe it's that they're too polished. I don't know, but they just don't  inspire me in any way.

I'm shocked Sami went tonight... I blame Louie. He keeps giving her crap songs!!  Saying that, I liked Kitty's performance last night ( but still dislike her personality) so I'm not sure I'd be happy if she left either.

I have to agree that this year it does seem a bit boring. I am watching the US version and really enjoying it. Can't wait for live performances to start and really see what they have up their sleeves. 

I hope that with the UK X-Factor, as it gets down to the last few people it picks up a bit.

I agree that the UK show is a bot ho-hum.  It makes me sad because I usually love watching X-Factor.  Boo.

They made the right decision. Do the bottom two choose their own song for the sing-off? I kind of think they do, though I'm not entirely sure. But, if they do, I don't think we can blame Louis for Sami's crap songs. That one she did last night was as dated and old-fashioned as everything else she's done. Kitty, as much as I find her annoying, was far far better.

I'm loving this season!!! It's way better than the US one ... though, of course, I'm watching both! 

Agree with everyone else who said the US version is sooo much better than the UK one this year, which surprised me a bit as I hate American Idol and other shows like that in America due to all the country style singing. Ugh, I hate country music (well, I hate the Garth Brooks style of singing with all the yodeling and hillbilly accent kind of stuff, I don't mind Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and a few of the other old legends.) I was so glad they didn't put the country dudes through from judge's houses. Really looking forward to the live US shows this week. My faves are Philip (swoon), Drew, Rachel and Josh. I also think Dexter might put on a good show and I think the Brewer Boys are kind of fun.  Maybe we should start a new thread for US X-Factor 2011?

I guess for the UK X-Factor, I really only like Kitty (yeah, I know, not the best singer, but at least her performances are interesting and she has this insane look about her that intrigues me... lol) and I think Mischa is ok, but I really only liked her first performance, the other ones didn't really do it for me.

Jewlz - Do it start the US X factor thread b/c I scroll thru this as I dont watch the UK one for all the reasons listed above haha Plus I dont want to dedicate that many nights to Xfactor ;-)
