What is/isn't OK in checked baggage going from US-UK

So, in the US it seems a great gift is pocket knives ..... I have about 6 that I want to take....no biggie for checked baggage but once it arrives in the UK? Just wondering if I just need to leave them? Any Ideas??

No you should be just fine if you check them, just remember to let the check-in person know they're in there to cover your bases.  I packed a whole set of kitchen knives in my baggage when flying over a couple of years ago and though I got stopped at immigration here in Belfast, I immediately offered up that they were in the suitcase before they started looking to avoid any odd questions.

I brought kitchen knives as well, no problems at all.
