Dogs got to have surgery tomorrow
« on: November 02, 2011, 11:29:27 PM »
Hi as if I don't have enough to worry bout right now our dog has to have surgery tomorrow, he has cut his paw quite badly on my hubby's wheelchair I think and will have to have a general anesthetic tomorrow to have it repaired.

Am so worried bout him he is like another baby to me.  He still only a puppy he is just 18 months old  :(

Love pads x

Awwwwww, poor puppy.  What breed is he?

I was always a wreck when my dog had to have any procedures.

At 18 months, he should be strong and healthy. Try to distract yourself during the day, think only good thoughts, and if you can, maybe go buy him a little gift for when he comes home. :)

I'm sure he will be fine and running around like crazy before long. x

Thanks love.  He is a staffy cross lab but he dosen't look much like a staffy really, he is most peculiar looking really but we love him.

Have got to phone them at 1.30 am trying to keep myself occupied until then.

Hugs to you.  I understand what you are feeling.  My puppy, Lucy was spayed in June.  I knew from the time I got her that she would be spayed.  There was no question in my mind that it is the right thing to do.  But the day she went to the vet for the operation, I was beside myself with worry.  And of course, signing the release papers didn't help!  But the vet was reassuring, telling me that Lucy was healthy, and that they do these operations daily.  And of course, she came through just fine.  But those feelings of concern are because you love them and don't want anything to happen to them.  Nothing wrong with that!

I hope he has a speedy recovery! ;D

Update he had his surgery ok, all went well untill he had his dressing changed today, she said it was fine and healing nicely so she bandaged him up again and I brought him home.  Then went out to do some shopping, got a panicked phone call from hubby saying dog chewed his bandage off, I said put it back on again, he said I can't stupid dog has eaten it, I said Oh dear, well only other thing I could suggest was a sock he now has a sock taped on his leg Oh well stupid dog lol.

Thanks everyone for your best wishes.  Love pads x
