Blackberry pay as you go plans

Hey all, I've switched to a blackberry recently but the network I'm on (giffgaff) does not offer any blackberry support so I need to switch to a different network.

Can anyone recommend a pay as you go plan that's fairly cheap? I'm not after a lot of data, texts or minutes. I just want to be able to use the push email feature and blackberry messenger to stay in contact with the US side of my family.

How much is 'fairly cheap' to you?!

the best thing is to pop into Carphone warehouse/phones4u who deal with all networks and have a look with one of their sales people to see which of the myriad of tariffs suits you. You could then check online at those company websites for any 'online only' special deals and also look at the online only mobile phone & tariff specialists to do some comparisons

For instance, to me, 'fairly cheap' is anything around £40/month !

My BF has a Blackberry on contract. I think he paid for the phone outright and then got a £10 a month contract that gave him a good deal of internet, texts and minutes. He also has to pay another £5 for BB services, so it's about £15 a month in total. He's with T-Mobile. I wouldn't say they have the greatest coverage, but it works.

Dennis is right, though - you're best to go to Carphone Warehouse and see what sort of options you can get.

From searching the giffgaff boards, it seems that they've been planning to launch Blackberry BBM for an extra £3 with an active goodybag.  It's been pushed back a few times, but they recently posted that they'll be launching it in early January, if you think you can wait that long/prefer to stick with giffgaff.

You could also just try a PAYG SIM on another network (assuming your phone's unlocked), and then switch back to giffgaff, once they sort it out, if the other network's pricing isn't as competitive as giffgaff's?

I have a pay as you go SIM card through O2.  Their Blackberry bolt on is £5/month.

Petunia, do you have to top up £15 or so before getting the bolt on? (That's what I've heard just wanted to know if that's right?)

I second TMobile, were I got free blackberry service (+email + internet) for a £10/month for 6 months then £15/month after that.

I got a BB last Christmas with T-Mobile. I think it is £20 every 6months. I just use it for email and BBM.
