Document Delay
« on: March 15, 2012, 06:38:27 PM »
DH sent his documents via UPS on Tuesday and they were supposed to be delivered today. UPS called him this afternoon and told him that the documents had been sent back because they didn't clear customs.

UPS hadn't completely filled out all the forms correctly - URRRGGGH! When they called him to tell him about it, they said that what happened wasn't illegal or else the police would've shown up at his house, but still... ::)

I should have his documents by Monday and I guess in the grand scheme of things, this isn't that bad, but it's still a little frustrating.

They gave him a 60% refund, so that's nice!  :D

That stinks.  At least you should have them by Monday.  They really should have given him a full refund since it was their mess-up in the first place, but I guess 60% is better than nothing at all.

Applying is stressful enough anyway without the added stress of UPS.

Ugh. How annoying!

When DF was sending me his documents, he overnighted them to me via FedEx and they arrived promptly at my door at 9:30 AM the next morning. Had they not been there, I would have flipped.

On the bright side, at least his documents weren't lost by USPS or the Royal Mail.

I specifically told him to avoid them  ;D

And told him to go UPS because we know our UPS man and he'll hand the documents directly to me.

Now you have me nervous! My BF sent me his documents for my visitor visa today through Royal Mail with tracking. They said 4 working days. I want to submit my application, do biometrics, and send it off before my BF gets here to visit me in 2 weeks. Otherwise it would be a waste of money for him to have even mailed the documents. I hope I can get it done !
