Anyone is the Glasgow or North Lanarkshire area?

Been living here for 3 years but always seem to miss out on the American holidays and such. Would love to know what people in the area do for American football, July 4th, Thanksgiving, etc. I know of a good few events that go on for Americans as well in the area, so ask away! Specifically I'm looking for a bar to watch the super bowl in! There used to be a place in city centre, but it's since shut down 

Also, planning to go to an American football game in Glasgow (the Uni has a team!). Should be fun  if you're ever feeling homesick, the Uni has lots of good contacts!

We have an American football team in Dundee, as well.  I haven't been to see or support them yet.  But, that would be great fun.  My first Thanksgiving here, I cooked a big dinner but it just wasn't the same.  I think I need to make it bigger and invite ALL of my Scottish family over for dinner that night.  I plan on giving that a try in 2012. 

I have started to embrace the local holidays more now.  Guy Fawkes is great fun and I hope to celebrate that every year from now on.  Last year, I completely forgot about the 4th of July until it was the 4th.  Horrible, I know!

Yea, we've gotten into the fun habit of buying fireworks at Guy Fawkes and saving them until July 4th, and setting them off then hahaha. We invite the family over and have a big BBQ. It's a lot of fun

PS how is the american football team in Dundee? Is it thru the uni or just a team of enthusiasts? I'm always amazed by how much Glaswegians know about NFL teams.

Those are the most fun! They still look more professional than our team here HAHA! Sometimes I bring up being from America and I immediately get quizzed on American football players and stats, and then they act shocked when I can't follow!
