FYI for all those interested, OU decided on their new fees this year. It's the same as English fees, 5 grand per year for a full-time student.

Is this for an international student or anyone on a spouse visa?

I was curious to this as I have heard about OU and would like to take some courses but I will not be married until next spring, so of course I wouldn't start until I was allowed to but I was curious what the fees would be for me since I will be considered an international student at most other uni's until I have been in the UK for 3 years.

It is for all students not in Wales, Scotland or NI.

Yep. An international student is defined as one who doesn't meet the criteria of a home student. If you're on a spousal visa and have been in the UK for less than 3 years, it's very likely you'll be assessed as an international student (from what I've read, at least...more knowledgeable people can correct me/confirm).

Assuming you live in England, the tuition you pay will be identical either way. However, it will affect your student loan eligibility (i.e. you won't be).

Oh, and Jenny, the costs are a bit more reasonable with OU. You can take partial courses: for example, if you want to go part-time and take half a full load (I believe 60 units?) in a year, it would be 2500, for a quarter of a full load (30 units) you'd pay 1250. In addition, they have programs that allow you to spread the cost of tuition over the year.

Here's more info:

If you have a degree already you won't be able to get loans anyway, but I am not sure of everyone's situation here.

You do need to be here for three years at this point, but if they extend the time you need to get your ILR I am not sure how that would affect things.
