Is there such a thing as very short term apartment/flat?
« on: November 17, 2011, 05:45:41 PM »
My cousin is travelling with us when we move.

Hotels are not only way too expensive, they are also not very comfortable beyond about a week.

I want to live in self-catering places but worry they will be booked by the time I get the tickets to fly.

Cousin said someone told her that there are apartments available in UK and Europe but she couldn't remember the website right off and she wanted me to ask on here. I haven't heard of apartments or flats available for less than six months.

Does anyone have any idea what the friend was talking about?

Google 'serviced apartments' in the city you're interested in.
I did London and got this one, among many others:

Thanks, I'll check that. I get the feeling that there is a big variety of short term places in London.

The biggest short term flat inventory can be found through Foxtons. These will be proper flats, not "hotel" style studios. There is an over abundance of overpriced, short term/holiday accommodation here so beware of the badly managed ones. Trip advisor can help with reviews and stuff.

if you're still looking at this.... airbnb is a great option for short-term. airbnb.com, i've used it in paris and prague for short stays (2-3 nights) but i know of people renting out entire flats
