Bank statements: physically in the account?
« on: February 12, 2012, 12:22:13 AM »
My husband currently lives in a shared house and will be starting the search to find us a place of our own about June-July of this year. We are hoping to have me moved over by our first anniversary (in October) so ideally we would like to apply for the visa around the July-Aug time frame. However it's not just me moving (I'm bringing my cat as well) so we are anticipating for it to be a tad longer than we would like in finding a place because we not only have to find a place WE like but that accepts cats.

My husband asked me a question today and I told him I would post to here for any advice (I did a search but couldn't come up with anything on the particular question I had - if it's there, forgive me). We know they will want his bank statements (he gets paid once a month and it's directly deposited into his bank account) but do we have to wait for the rent/council tax to PHYSICALLY come out of that bank account before we can apply or will providing the bank statements were his check is depoisted, pay stubs, rent tendency with it showing how much the rent is, and a paper stating how much we will pay in council tax before it ever comes out?

So for question sake lets say my husband finds our place in July. He gets the tenacy agreemnt, council tax paper, all that and gets it to me before the 1st of Aug. So while I have everything showing what he makes, what we will be paying, etc. none of it is actually shown on any of his bank statements we will be providing. Is this okay or do we actually have to wait like a month after he finds our place to provide a bank statement were it clearly shows his check depsoit, the rent come out, and the council tax come out?

No you don't need to wait. They want to see that there are consistant deposits going in the account, as of right now, if you have that 105.95 available every week you are fine. As long as you have the supporting documents about rent and council tax you'll do fine.

Thank you Cali Girl! I told my husband I assumed the same - pretty sure the UKBA can do the math if given all the papers to see if we meet the weekly income requirement. :p
