My favourite part is that Obamacare is largely based on the Mass. system which is Romney's baby.
I have to say that the MassHealth plan has been fantastic for my son (who works in retail). It was difficult to find a doctor in our area who would take it however (he was told he might have to sign on with a doctor in another part of the state!) After a year with his employer he became eligible for their health insurance (which is really a sort of reimbursement plan allowing only a certain amount per year) It won't even begin to cover his appointment costs, let alone meds and CPAP equipment so he asked MassHealth if he would be allowed to stay with them but was told No, if your employer offers health insurance you have to take it! To further complicate things, if his average number of hours of work fall (he has no control over hours assigned) he will be bumped off the company plan and then have to go with COBRA. So this is far from an ideal solution to healthcare. I imagine that there will be many drawbacks with Obamacare as well.
Having said all that, I am happy with the Supreme Court's decision. We have to start somewhere.
