A few clarifications about applying for ILR in person
« on: March 26, 2012, 11:05:10 AM »
Hey everyone, I am getting very close to actually applying for ILR finally! My husband and I have enough money saved to apply for it in person, and I had a few questions about it. I am unsure of how to book an in person appointment, I have heard that you need to book weeks in advance? I came into the country on 9th of July 2010. So I would assume I would need to book an appointment for June 11th 2012? Also notarized documents that we used for the first visa can they be used again when applying for ILR? Any clarification on this would be appreciated!

(Edit : I have sorted out the issue of booking appointments and now realize that you can book up to six weeks in advance. Still unsure about the notarized documents though)

Yes, you can use the notarized documents from before (birth certificate, marriage certificate, etc), but you need an up-to-date photocopies of your passport, which doesn't need to be notarized.

You can book your appointment up to 6 weeks in advance.   Work out the day you want to go and call up on the morning exactly 6 weeks before that date - appointments for in person ILR are scarce.
