i made it to leeds. i really like what i've seen so far. we took a drive this morning through kirkstall and headingly. things are much closer than i had thought. i have only ever seen maps and just assumed everything was quite far. my fiance is having his bachelor party today, so i've been left to my own devices. i need some good winter boots. where are the malls in leeds or shopping area?

Yay you're here!!  I think Mrs. Robinson is back in two weeks.  I'm leaving for the US on Wednesday (right in time for Frankenstorm) and return in 5 days--just a quick and unexpected visit to see my dad who's got cancer.

When I'm back we can all totally go shopping!  I won't get a chance to go with you this week as I've got to get ready for my trip and we set off for my MiL's on Tuesday.

If you get the 33 or 33a bus on Kirkstall Rd it'll get you into the city centre in 15 minutes.  All the major shopping is right there within a few blocks of each other.  There's The Light (right near the Art Gallery and Library) and then there's the main outdoor shopping strip with Primark, M&S, Debenhams and everything in between, also there are the Arcades right off of the strip for your more expensive shops--there's loads and it's all easy to find.  Like I said, I'll happily go with you when I'm back from Florida.  You're so close!!!

I've only just seen this. Bee, where in Kirkstall are you? I live in Kirkstall, not too far from the abbey.

Welcome Bee :) I'm in Harrogate-about a 45 minute train ride from Leeds...we should all try to go to the Chistlekindlemarkt (we try to go most years, Mrs Robinson and I). I've got a 9.5 month old so will probably have to do a  Tuesday or Wednesday during the day if it is open or a Saturday/Sunday. Or you can come down to Harrogate on a Tuesday/Wednesday and you can go shopping here haha Hope you are having a great time so far!

Hey guys,
I've just gotten wifi in the house, so i'm only just seeing these new messages. Ashley, i'm super close to the abbey too. maybe 5 min walk. right next to that car wash place. i'm going to PM you in a bit to get some more details. Sarah, i agree, let's pick a date. i'm literally free any time. no job just yet. let me know what you think.

Hi beegriffy!  I've been back from my US hols for a couple weeks or so now, but just had a lot on.  Sorry for not checking back here sooner!

SWB & I may be getting together soon-ish - next week or two for the German Xmas Market in town, likely on a Tuesday.  Wondering if you'll be free?

Did you find the shopping that you wanted?  How are you settling in?
