I'm from West Virginia and I've lived in Bristol for 10 years (English hubby).
I've only really just stumbled across this forum - what I would have given for it when I first moved here!
Anyway, I post with a reason.
In Bristol, we have the second largest softball league in the UK. It's co-ed, slowpitch and we play at the Clifton College sports grounds (across the Clifton Suspension Bridge).
There's a handful of yanks, but it's mostly British people learning the game. There are three divisions and the standard isn't brilliant, but it's really great fun. (We play in the lowest division).
My team (Base Invaders) is recruiting players! We desperately need guys (especially a pitcher), but we'll take anybody who wants to have fun. We have quite a few couples on our teams, so if you want to drag your partner, please do!
We play every Tuesday evening from April to September. Costs are £32 a year for fees, plus a bit more if you want a shirt.
