How do you look at an interview?
« on: September 24, 2004, 11:19:17 AM »
Do you look at it as a:

1. Oh man, i gotta have this job.  PICK ME

or

2. A chance to learn more about the company and role, let them learn more about you and then decide how you feel after the interview.

i'm getting nervous i'm letting recruiters put me through for jobs that i may/may not be chuffed about.  Just curious to see what people say.

For me it is number two ....I think sometimes you even come across better if you are honestly looking at them as to whether it is an appropriate match.

Yeah I'm with HG....interviews for me are just a chance to learn more about the job and the company.  I tend to usually switch to number 1 mood about ten minutes into the interview tho.  :)

Same as Wishstar...I'm cool about the interview until I'm actually on my way to the interview.  Then I freak out and start hoping they'll PICK ME PICK ME PICK ME!   ;D

oh no lola. i've got 'pick me pick me' syndrome about a job and i haven't even gotten a call from the company.

i want this job.....and i want it BAD.  OMG.  The company is just what i'm looking for, the job is familiar enough that i could do a lot of it instantly but also challenging enough that i wouldn't be bored.

It's such a good fit for me......ooooohhhh.  PICK ME PICK ME!!!!!!!!!

I tend to freeze at interviews and look blankly at my inquisitor. As the seconds turn to minutes, he or she gradually constructs an opinion of how I perform under stress.
