Pandora in the UK?
« on: April 29, 2012, 01:05:24 AM »
Hi everyone. I am a huge fan of Pandora (streaming radio) but it won't work in the UK. Can anyone recommend a substitute website that work in the UK?

Have you tried TuneIn Radio?  I'm in the US, and it does carry UK stations, so it might work in the UK.

You should try Spotify as well, that's what I've used as my Pandora-fix, although I am still anxiously awaiting the day that Pandora expands to the UK!

If you download Hotspot Shield either on your iPad, iPhone, or computer, you're able to bypass the restriction. I downloaded the Pandora app and it works perfectly when Hotspot is activated. And it's free!
There are two kinds of people.  People who say what they want, and people who DO what they want. Which one will you be?

Also, if youre up for it, you can bypass the region lock on GoogleMusic and upload youre entire collection to the 'cloud' and then stream it to your phone..

I use Hotspot shield whenever I need to "be" in the US. It will bypass UK ISP bans on file sharing sites, allow my google searches to be US friendly (helpful if you're visiting soon and need to do some shopping), so it should allow Pandora too. Good luck :)

BF was able to do it in moments. Apparently Google have made the restriction relatively easy to work around. Once I root my phone, I'm looking into doing it with the core of my mp3 collection

Yeah, it was a piece of cake.  The best part is you only need to activate Hotspot Shield when you sign up.  Afterward, you can turn it off and Google Music will continue to work.

As for the phone part, I found a lot of instructions on the web for getting the Google Music app to download/work on a UK phone, but it seems like a pain and I've already got my music loaded onto the SD card of my phone, so I'm going to skip it until they release the app in the UK.

Thanks again, Kerri!
