1. Are you doing anything special for the Jubilee celebrations?
No  , daughter and I are in the States missing everything. For good reason though...son just graduated high school.

2. Based on the "What's for tea at your house tonight?" thread, which UKY member would you be most excited to receive a dinner invitation from?
Hmmm, I don't think I know anyone that well yet. Maybe Phatbeetle? I love her signature where it says..."I've never gotten  food on my underpants". It always cracks me up.

3. What is your shopping style? Do you love a bargain or do you buy regardless of price?  Do you prefer online shopping or in person? New or used? Believe it or not, I hate shopping! I would much prefer to shop online, but I HATE paying full price so I always look for a bargain. I will buy used if the item is in good shape.

4. What is your fighting style? Are you confrontational or do you prefer to keep the peace?
Well, I am a definite peace keeper, but when I get angry...LOOK OUT. I tend to have to walk away to calm down before I can finish an argument as my emotions tend to get the better of me.
5. You know I like you if..... I call you on the phone. I dislike the phone immensely, and will only call people I either like or are family, and even then its a struggle for me (I have an anxiety about the phone  )

I think we are going to see the Regatta on Sunday and I have to find my mother some Jubilee tat that does not weigh/cost too much. Want a keychain mom?

I'm really torn between phatbeetle (when vegetarian) and Andee! 

3. What is your shopping style? Do you love a bargain or do you buy regardless of price?  Do you prefer online shopping or in person? New or used?

I love bargains and online shopping for most things and I am happy to buy used if in good condition. Shoes are the exception though as I have wide feet so I have to try them on and am willing to fork out for shoes that last.

4. What is your fighting style? Are you confrontational or do you prefer to keep the peace?

Completely depends on my mood! Mostly I avoid confrontation and will retreat into my shell if wounded. But every so often I find myself in a lioness mood and will completely defend myself if pushed. Yesterday I filed a formal complaint against someone I work with for bullying and it really felt good. He has bullied other people (women)in the past and by the time he got to me I was just SO not having it. We will see if anything comes of it though as my company seriously lacks cojones.

Our neighbor has arranged a block party on Monday, so DF and I will attend that because I haven’t really met anyone on the street yet.

Hmmm, probably kbeech06 (sorry if I spelt your name wrong).

I love “window shopping” online, but if I’m going to buy something, I want to buy it in person, so I can try it on and look at it in a full length mirror. I’ve never bought anything used and I’m all about bargains if there are some to be had and I’ll buy something expensive if it’s something I will use for years (like a coat).

4. What is your fighting style? Are you confrontational or do you prefer to keep the peace?

I prefer to keep the peace. I only confront people if I feel they are truly in the wrong and need to be told, but I try to be as diplomatic as possible and I have extreme anxiety about doing it.

I feel comfortable striking up a conversation with you.

Yay!!  I was going to answer this one phatbeetle (I know she'd rustle up something veggie for us with loads of veggies from her allotment) and Courtney (I've noticed some of the stuff you cook and also see that you are veggie).

Not specifically for the Jubilee, but hubby's best friend came over from Manchester and he's had dinner with us and is staying the night.

Tomorrow, hubby and I will go to mapleleafgirl's and her hubby's for lunch.

I have to be in the right mood for shopping which rarely happens.  I don't hunt down bargains, but they are definitely welcome.  Since I work in a charity shop I do get quite a lot of bargains that way.  I obviously don't mind used.

I prefer to keep the peace, but if I feel I've really been wronged I will have to say so, but hopefully won't get too emotional about it (but I probably will).

Working with volunteers and serving customers means I have to be friendly and make an effort to chat, etc.  But if I make an effort to get together with you one-on-one, then you know I really like you.

As I am back on US soil, and sadly there are no fantastic block parties on my street and the British themed pubs near me are pretty awful, I'm thinking of making a Jubilee dinner. Haven't decided on what yet, maybe a roast. Perhaps I'll try my hand at making a Victoria sponge or something.

I don't follow that thread, but apparently phatbeetle needs to start thinking about hosting a uk yankee get together.

I'm also an online window shopper but prefer to buy in person, depending on the retailer's returns policy. I am a sucker for designer jeans, so love to find a bargain on them in the sales (just bought a pair of Current-Elliots for $69 at Barneys!). I am very bad at splurging on things for myself, frankly, and DH has to talk me into spending actual money. But my last large UK purchase was a brand new wax jacket from Barbour - that thing will last me forever!

I like to talk things through. Never been much of a confronter. Life is too short!

I invite you out for a beer. Or in honour of the Jubilee, a Pimm's!

We didn't do anything at all for the Jubilee celebrations. Neither of us really get into the whole royal family thing.

I'd have to agree with the majority, phatbeetle and/or Andee.

Unless it can't be avoided, I rarely pay full price. I love a bargain, shop clearance first,and LOVE second hand stores.  I rarely shop online because I seem to fit a wide range of sizes, depending on fabric and cut of the item.

I definitely prefer to keep the peace.

I am comfortable opening up face to face.
