I love that this group is always good for new suggestions, so what site are you currently loving for good rental car deals?

 :)

I usually rent through www.rentalcars.com although I sometimes get a better rate with www.budget.com, and have been pleased with the quotes. You pay nothing in advance, do not have to give c/card details and your rental is with a major company.

We do still have US insurance coverage though, so I can't vouch for the above if you need to pay for insurance on top of the daily rental rate.

I just used Priceline, and got a great deal on a car rental in Chicago for a wedding I'm going to in August. If you're picking up and dropping off in the same place, you can name your own price. They have most car rental agencies on their site, including the budget rental places. I got quotes from all the big companies' sites (Enterprise, Budget, Alamo, etc), and ended up getting the car for about 20% cheaper through Priceline.

I tend to carry an additional policy for my international rentals but thanks for the reminder to check if it's up to date! ;)

Serena~ I've never used Priceline, even though my sister and brother both work for them lol. Unfortunately I'm flying into Dulles but renting from National to avoid having to pay for parking whilst I am in DC so that rules them out. It also rules out Hotwire which I have scored some very good deals on in the past.  :-\\\\

I have also used carhire300 for EU rentals. New sites are always popping up so I wanted to check I was not missing out on a good one. :)

Do you have a CostCo account? CostCo is typically the cheapest when I've looked. I've saved a ton off of rentals recently.

I don't at the moment, but have an expired one I could renew. Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into it. :)

I always rent a car through Netflights.com, they are always slightly cheaper....not much, but slightly. Recently I rented a car in the UK through them and wound up with a Mercedes GLK something or other, it was the nicest car I have ever driven!
