Looking for new friends in London!!

Hi everyone,

I'm originally from Texas but have travelled around a lot and have been working in London now for a year. My wife is Spanish and I keep telling how nice American are, (I just need to find some!!!) The British don't seem as friendly  :(.

Anyway we just want to meet some new people (preferably normal) as we are still new to London. We live in Notting Hill and would be happy to meet up for coffee or a drink.

Hmmm... Meeting people is not always easy anyplace new... maybe it would help if you define 'your definition' of 'normal' so people get more of an idea of the sort of people you are looking to meet, or tell us more about you and your wife, or both?

Maybe there is someone on here who has a lot in common with you!

Do you ski? Do you like art? Are you a 60 year old ballet dancer? Do you two have kids?

Married 04/13/11, in NYC.
Applied for Spouse Visa the following week, with express service, and I was approved 4 days later!
Arrived in the UK 05/20/11.
I took the stupid LIUK Test Oct. 2012.
We were granted ILR In Person in Croydon on 04/23/13.
Got BRP 2 days later, in mail box - it just appeared.

Haha... I guess some more background is in order!! 

We are both in our 20s.  I work in the city, we are both economics majors. We ski, we like art (but probably not as much as we like to think we do!!) We like to dance and we don't have any kids.

I guess we are just looking for friends who like good conversation and having fun. We like travel and want experience new things while we are in london since we don't know how long we will stay.  On normal we set the bar pretty low, as long as you send through some fingerprints to do a background check we should be ok :P :P.

We should have a UKY London meetup one day...

I've been to a couple before.

I think that just pm'ing and arranging to meet people who you've connected with on the board works well.

Hi! I'm from Georgia... have been living in the UK for about a year now also. My fiance and I live in Cheshunt, both work/socialise mainly in London. Would love to meet up and have a chat!

I am studying/working in health care and Chris (my fiance) is a freelance artist (mainly working in post-production, all over London!). Cool to hear you are both economics majors, we can have some interesting banter on the topic as I am planning my final dissertation to include cost-reduction strategies and the such  8)
