Moogie from Oregon and Arizona
« on: July 29, 2012, 01:48:27 AM »
Hi, I'm Moogie.
I've recently moved from Oregon to Arizona and now I'm thinking of moving to Scotland. I'm recently divorced and doing the things I've always wanted to do but couldn't. My work experience is limited, I was a school bus driver, home care provider, and dishwasher at Maswik Lodge at the Grand Canyon (where I'm at now). Moving to Scotland is just a thought right now, but it's a rather persistent one.

I've loved Scotland since I was a child and always dreamed of seeing that fair land, especially the Isle of Skye. I'm concerned about how much it will cost to move there. Should I sell everything or keep my things in storage as they are now? Will I make enough to live on? I know no one there, is this the right move to make or should I just plan a visit instead of moving? There are so many questions, so many things to think about. Any suggestions? Has any other single women moved there? How was it? How did you fit in? How did you find a job? Were you frightened?
It's better to have tried and failed, than to never have tried at all!

Welcome to UKY.

You should really plan to visit the UK. It's not possible to just up and move there. You need to have a method by which to obtain a visa, such as via marrying a British citizen, enrolling in a degree program, or receiving a job offer for a highly skilled position. So it's best if you plan a visit and travel as a tourist before planning any move that might not be possible.
