Glad to find you
« on: September 23, 2012, 12:24:16 AM »
I applied to be a citizenship by descent just in the past month. I'm hoping to learn a lot from the group of people who frequent this forum. I hope to move to N.I. in June with my two dogs. There's a lot to do between now and then.

Sell my mother's home (she died in July and I'm moving to be near family), get my house ready to rent or sell, figure out the tax ramifications in the UK if any, get the dogs situated, discover the best company to ship my goods to N.I. and deliver them to my new home... oh yeah, find and buy a home in N.I. And if I don't, finding a place to store my home's contents until I do.

Already, after registering on this site, I posted a question in the wrong area. I can't even find the area where I posted two questions. The first page I saw appeared to be an open ended forum for any sort of questions. Then, when I came back to the site, the forum I saw had sections. Color me a confused newbie.

Glad to be here.

Oh... and I hope this may lead to my meeting ex-Pats in N.I. When my Mom moved to the US from the UK, she and her friends (all war brides) form a British Women's Club. As much as I want to adapt to my new home, it would be nice to have some ex-pat friends too.

Welcome :)

There are a couple of members on here that are in Northern Ireland, myself included.
