Son was in car accident
« on: May 03, 2013, 04:32:31 PM »
He wasn't driving and besides a headache and some scrapes and bruises, he's physically ok. They sent him to the hospital because they noticed one pupil bigger than the other at the scene...but he's had that since he as a baby.
I really could throttle him though. He's not yet 20(Sept baby) never mind 21 but he had been with friends who were drinking and he admits to having a drink. The driver was speeding...and apparently drove into a pickup truck. He was arrested at the scene. How many times do you tell your children when they're growing up NOT to get into a car with someone who has been drinking???? Seriously...from the time he was old enough to know what drinking was I have told him. I've obviously been talking just to hear myself because he certainly wasn't listening!
Hopefully the driver was insured as my son has no medical insurance and was taken by ambulance to the emergency room.
Arrrgghhh!!! At least he's ok...but I could seriously kill him!

Hugs, kbeech!   [smiley=hug.gif]

At least he's ok.  :)  And maybe he's learned to listen to his mama now.   ::)

Oh no! Huge hugs!

I'm really glad he is okay and hopefully this is a lesson learned. My son was involved in a car accident when he was 14. The driver was 16, and not druk but driving stupidly in the fog. He took a corner too fast and had a close encounter with the back of a parked semi. :( Daniel was bruised pretty badly and broke his collarbone but otherwise thankfully okay. Since it happened to him so young, he was really upset by this and has always been a very careful driver as a result. Sometimes these things really do a better job than our nagging does. :)

I hope he recovers quickly and that those bills are paid.

Hugs kbeech!  Thank goodness he's OK, it could have been so much worse!  Hopefully this close call will put the fear into him and he'll never get into a car again with someone who's been drinking behind the wheel.

Courtney, you have a teen aged son? :o  I didn't think you were nearly old enough for that!

Flattered!  Honestly from your pic and I don't know what else, really I thought you were in your 20s or early 30s.
