French Bulldog Travel

Hello!
I just introduced myself, but I am moving to London in July and know that I just can't leave my dog. He must come, too!    He is a French Bulldog.  I Have traveled with him before, but he always came in the cabin with me.  Unfortunately, pets must travel cargo to get into the UK, so I am having a tough time.  Most airlines won't cargo fly any kind of bulldogs any time of year. I would love any ideas! It isn't so much a cost factor (though I won't be chartering a private jet... lol)  it is just making it happen somehow.  The QM2 is booked through the end of next year for pets and they won't allow me to be on a waiting list unless I have a ticket booked.  I'm stuck! Please help!!

Even if you did find an airline that would fly him, I would absolutely advise against it.  Frenchies and pugs especially are at very high risk any time of the year, but obviously July is the worst time!   I'd suggest firstly speaking to your vet about his breathing quality (if you have not already done so) and then having someone look after him until October or so and flying him then if your vet thinks he's up for it.

My friend flew into France and then took the Chunnel so her dog could fly in the cabin.

Check with AirFrance, I think they will take snub nose pets in the cabin or in the hold, but you will end up in France!
I have been looking into all of this too, along with the QM2, as I have a small persian cat and a poodle that will be moving to the UK in the fall and I think we might end up doing the France thing too, as I am worried about the persian......or just charter a boat to sail us across the Atlantic! 

Guys! This was such a pain!! OUr vet said that our dog had great breathing and "should be fine" but we were just too scared to risk bringing him over, regardless of the weather. We went ahead and flew with him to France and then drove across to England.  It was incredibly nerve wracking, since we were flying with AirFrance, and our dog is way over their weight limit.  But they were really nice about it, and no one said anything while reviewing his documents... But I was prepared to have to find another way.  Thankfully, everyone is here safe and sound!  Thanks!

Would you mind going into more detail on how flying into Paris and getting across to the UK was with your dog?
 I am fairly certain that is the way I will be doing it in the fall and I am all over the internet now looking for more info 

What was their weight limit?
