Hey All,
My wife is currently applying for her UK Settlement visa with her main US passport, so that is away in New York for processing. It seems we greatly underestimated the length of time it would take to apply for this visa and we will not be getting it back before Christmas.
We have booked to do Christmas with my folks in Hong Kong this year, and leave the US on the 12th of Dec. Part of our trip to HK includes a 3 day stop in the UK.
I am wondering if it is possible for her to enter as a visitor to the UK on her second passport (in the US you can apply for a second passport if you travel a lot and need a spare one while your main one is in processing) and not upset the border authority.
Note that unlike this thread:
http://talk.uk-yankee.com/index.php?topic=49629.0 [nofollow] we are not intending to stay in the UK on the second passport in place of a visa (not entering under false pretenses) and so, as far as I can tell, shouldn't run into trouble.
Does anyone have any experience with this? It is probably an uncommon situation :/
