"The Happiest Place On Earth", rest assured can be done with no car as long as taxi's are suitable.  The reason she does not want to read is a bit obscure though, don't ya think?

Did I really read that correctly?   "She doesn't want to drive on the opposite side of the road?"  Then why is she living in England?  They even put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car, good grief;)

Okay so Orlando is not cheap and there really is no such thing as cheapy hotels and the ones that are she won't want to stay there. A much better bet is to simply get a better vacation package to Disney World. In other words, if you shop smartly and seek the best packages that include flight, hotel, car [should she get over the driving ordeal!] and Disney World tickets this hands down will be your ultra savings, though if you are going to do this last minute than it may get more difficult, so really shop extra savvy.  What this entails is going online and clicking on the advanced tab for entering the "extra" criteria for your trip like be...
a) willing to fly and land at an airport close-by that may be considerably cheaper,
b) willing to fly red-eye or land in the middle of the night,
c) willing to fly on the actual day of a holiday could literally cut your package down in half, as almost nobody wants to fly on Christmas Day, Easter or Thanksgiving
d) do not buy the first great "deal" offered, as there are so many great deals you do though really have to scout them out. And lastly...
e) ...make darned sure you buy some travel insurance so that in the event you had to cancel out you won't lose the whole thing and can re-book.

All the best to you, even if you English have a hard time in finding the right side of the road ~ heehee... and oh yes, be sure to have the grandest of time as you are going to what the creator, Walt Disney, always said was the "Happiest Place On Earth"  :D

Perhaps because she is English and England is her home country... Just a thought :P.

Um, you do realise that the majority of people posting on this thread are American, right? This is a forum for US citizens living or wanting to live in the UK, so saying "you English" is inaccurate and could be considered offensive (especially as there are 4 countries in the UK and not everyone here lives in England... you don't want to say 'you English to someone from Scotland, for example) :P.

ps Ksand24

I will delete the above response so that there is no negativity as looking at your attendance here you must be the owner or someone here almost everyday so I didn't mean to offend you either though you did open yourself up to it, as i so obviously am new and meant no harm. I cannot though allow anyone to talk down on me like I am an idiot, so what else could I have said back to you?  Anyways once I know you read it I will delete this as you may want to do too- just as a suggestion of goodwill!

Regardless, I do wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year my friend.   Kind Regards,  Roman T

I'm sure ksand24 didn't mean to insult you by her response to your post. She (and many of us) have been around UKY for a long time and it might surprise you to hear that a lot of new posters do say things in all seriousness that others might find silly. It's just that they don't know. So I'm sure she just assumed you didn't know any better. No need to take offense!

Happy Christmas!  :)

@KSAND24

Good Grief Charlie Brown, lighten up. I am just not sure if I should laugh or cry or what to think of a crazy comment reply as you wrote and am having to pinch myself that I just read your comment correctly!

It was actually supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek comment (hence the :P emoticon at the end of my sentences) :). (I was also writing my reply on my ipod, early in the morning, while recovering from a cold, so apologies if any of the tiredness/difficulty with typing on a small device came through in my post).

I wasn't offended by what you said, I was just responding (with what you might call 'British humour') to the fact that your posts implied that you didn't seem to realise you were talking to a group of mostly Americans (with only 1 or 2 Brits in the mix)  :-\\\\.

If you had a shred of humor I believe you would have seen that I obviously knew she was English and from England which is why the humor was from an American putting it back on the English as far as driving on "the wrong side".  Get it?  What do you not understand about the Americans think the British drive on the wrong side and the British think the Americans drive on the wrong side?

Actually, I don't consider either side of the road to be the 'wrong' side - it's not 'wrong', it's just different :). (And your humour was not obvious from your post - for all I knew it was written in complete seriousness)

So no I am hardly worried there would be anyone getting offended by something I said.

My comment about people getting offended was in response to the fact that you'd just called a whole forum of US citizens 'you English' (in both this thread and your introduction post)... which might not go down too well (doesn't matter so much to me as I am English, but almost everyone else here at UK-Y is American) :P

Quote
Oh here we go...not everyone is Christian or Catholic therefore could get offended, because following your theory there may be other religious folk on this thread that would feel I am trying to convert them and be offended! I apologize and will re-address:  HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!!    ::)

Actually, 'we British' say Merry Christmas to everyone and religion doesn't usually come into it :D.

I cannot though allow anyone to talk down on me like I am an idiot, so what else could I have said back to you?

Well, I kind of hoped you might see the humour intended by my post, but as this exchange has just proven, it's easy for things to be taken the wrong way on the internet because the tone of the words does not always translate.

I was responding with humour to what came across to me to be an uninformed post about British culture and the type of forum this is (I found it vaguely amusing that you didn't seem to realise that you were calling group of mainly Americans, not all of whom live in England, 'you English')... while you missed the tongue-in-cheek response of my post and and seemed to think I was talking down to you like you were an idiot (which I wasn't, or at least didn't intend to... as I said, for all I knew, you wrote that in all seriousness).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family too. Good luck with your plans to visit and/or move to the UK in the future and I wish you all the best :).
