38 days to process my visa
« on: December 06, 2012, 04:20:43 PM »
 [smiley=sick.gif]

I just sent in my visa application on Monday not knowing that you can pay for priority. I'm sick over this. I'm suppose to be leaving the States on Jan 7th and it looks like that's not going to happen. Thankfully I didn't buy my ticket yet but I'm still upset like hell.  And I know I left it late but my fiance has been dragging his ass and now I'm at the 11th hour.

Has anyone had any recently luck on getting it approved quicker than the estimated time?

Thanks

It is possible, although UKBA do not encourage it (see text below), to apply and pay for priority processing after you have submitted your application:

"We do not encourage you to purchase the priority service after you have submitted your application. Where necessary, you can elect to purchase the priority service after submitting your application. If you purchase the priority service after submitting your application you must:

fax a copy of your receipt to 212-754-3062; and
include the relevant tracking number(s) for the package containing your application and supporting documents."

Here's where I found this information: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/countries/usa/worldbridge-services/?langname=UK%20English

I believe I have read here of applicants who went down this route, perhaps a search would turn up someone who was successful?

Good luck!

Hi Fruitgum,

Thanks for your help. I paid and faxed in my confirmation. I'm a little more at peace!
