Recalling Documents (NOT passport) & Circumstances Change?
« on: December 10, 2012, 01:51:23 PM »
Here's the situation:

I'm a USC married to a UKC. I mailed off my FLR(M) application at the beginning of July.

I have two questions:

A) I now need my name change certificate back. I only had one copy (I know, I know, but at the time I changed my name in NC, I could only afford the one). Is it possible to request this back?

B) My circumstances have changed a little - or they will if I can get a copy of my name change certificate. I just got a check that's worth about £16k which can be deposited once I have a copy of my name change certificate. Considering finances is the worst area of our application, I think the UKBA need to know about this before deciding on our application. What should I do to let them know?

Just to clarify: I applied under the old rules.

Thanks, guys!

Doesn't a large deposit need to be in your account for a certain amount of time? I don't think there is any way to let them know about it.

I don't know. I'll have to have a look on the website and see if I can find the old rules. To me, it's like insta-income - a bit over a year's worth. By the time they get around to looking at my application, it probably will have been there for nearly six months, haha.

Can you request a second name change certificate from NC?  Might be easier than dealing with the UKBA...
