I just had to post that my husband and I, probably among the last of the holders of the Retired Person of Independent Means visa holders, have just been approved for ILR!

We are over the moon!  We applied 5 May 2012, so it's been a stressful wait of more than 7 months.

I wanted to say thank you to all the people here who helped with my occasional questions, and a particular thank you to the lovely folks on the Processing Time for FLR (M) thread.  Although I've been a lurker, their posts really helped with the stress!

Well, she was an American girl, raised on promises.
She couldn't help thinking that there was a little more to life, somewhere else.
After all it was a great big world, with lots of places to run to.
And if she had to die trying she had one little promise she was gonna keep.
